TIME+TIDE CHONGWE CAMP, LOWER ZAMBEZI

Nestled between the imposing mountain escarpment to the north and the mighty Zambezi River to the south, the Lower Zambezi Valley has a variety of activities that few, if any, other destinations can offer. It has been described by guests as their “happy place” because of its beautiful scenery, peaceful riverside woodlands and abundant wildlife. The Lower Zambezi is just a short 30 minute flight from Lusaka and offers guests peaceful wildlife sightings on the banks of the river while canoeing or boating. Expert guides strive to make each guest feel like they are part of the landscape and not a mere spectator.

Enjoy the best views in the Lower Zambezi at this family- and elephant-friendly camp
Dotted along the riverbank, Time + Tide Chongwe is set at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers which wind through the forested valley, creating a haven for wildlife like lions, leopards and wild dog.

Its nine classic tents are designed to make the most of what Mother Nature provided. Each has a panoramic view along the Chongwe River, a spacious open-air bathroom, a porch with comfortable lounge chairs and features local textiles and handcrafted furniture.

Sustainability

All TIME+TIDE camps are built using local techniques and sustainable local materials and are run on solar power, leaving minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

Philanthropic efforts from Time+Tide properties include Female Empowerment initiatives (which aims to increase the number of primary school girls who successfully transition to, and eventually complete, secondary school), health (providing medical treatment for children who require hospitalization and consultations with specialists) and wildlife conservation (support local conservation management organisations in their anti-poaching, environmental education, human-wildlife conflict, and wildlife rehabilitation efforts).
