Supporting wildlife conservation is vital. The African Painted Dog (aka wild dog) populations have plummeted to as low as 6,600 today. Wild dogs are extremely social animals, beautiful in their own right, they share a common ancestor with jackals, wolves, coyotes, and of course, domestic dogs. Their togetherness shines when you watch them on safari; how young pups are looked after by their “aunties”, how they hunt together as a pack and how they protect one-another from other predators or threats. But make no mistake, there is still a hierarchy with wild dogs that ensures organisation.

As their endangered conservation status suggests, Wild Dogs have been and are threatened by loss of habitat, poaching and conflict with humans. Your support for conservation projects and fundraising efforts such as the Remembering Wildlife book series, great helps financial initiatives to help this species.
